Shawarma Flatbreads

Serves: 2

Marinating Time: 4 hours +

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes + marinating time

Ingredients

  • 1 Large Chicken Breast Diced (1 inch) or 250-300g Diced Steak

Marinade​​

  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice

  • 1/2 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar

  • 1/2 Tablespoon Ground Cumin

  • 1/2 Tablespoon Ground Coriander

  • 1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika

  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Cardamom

  • 1 Teaspoon Fine Sea Salt

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground turmeric

  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

  • 1/4 Teaspoon Allspice

  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

To Serve

  • 4 Flatbreads

  • Lettuce Sliced

  • Cherry Tomatoes Halved

  • Cucumber Diced

  • Red Onion Diced

  • Hummus

  • Tzatziki

Directions

  1. Combine all marinade ingredients in a medium bowl. Add chicken/steak, stir to combine, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. If using steak, remove from fridge 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. Pre heat grill to medium high and place marinated chicken/steak on skewers.

  3. Place chicken skewers under the pre heated grill for 10 minutes, turn over and grill for a further 10 minutes or steak skewers for 6 minutes each side.

  4. Remove skewers from grill once cooked and take out skewers.

  5. Serve on flatbreads with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, hummus and tzatziki.
